Our Mission

Women make up only 26% of the STEM workforce and just 10% of software engineers. At Women Advancing Tomorrow’s Technologists (WATT), we’re changing that.

 

Our mission is to empower the next generation of women in tech by providing free, accessible, and engaging coding education to girls of all backgrounds. We believe technology should be built by everyone, for everyone and that starts with giving girls the confidence, skills, and support to become tomorrow’s engineers and leaders.

 

​We are a non-profit dedicated to introducing girls to computer science at a young age. We aim to create a safe environment for learning at K-8 schools in the Greater Seattle area by holding after-school programming classes. We provide strong female role models in the form of our student volunteers with a focus on girls empowering girls.
